Solar Design

When you invest in renewable energy you want to get the most out of your system. Investing in an appropriate design makes a tremendous difference in the effectiveness of the system you install. With over 10 years of experience in solar designs, Omega Solar+Batteries can provide many different solar design options. Our expertise means your investment in renewable energy is the right one.

So which solar design is best for you and your business?

Solar Farm

Solar design options for solar farms vary. Normally our client has an idea in mind of their requirements. We then work with our clients to help them comprehensively understand the potential of solar energy and the benefits a solar system would have on their operational costs or how it would impact their grid. Within our company and network, we have the necessary capacity to design and construct systems as: full standalone units, grid connected or co-generation units.

The design process requires many different aspects. Included is understanding the requirements of the utility company, as well as the connection points to the grid. Although the design and installation processes are relatively straightforward and painless, the connection point guidelines can often be overlooked. This is a critical part of the design process and cost considerations. The specific design needs that energy providers require differ from region to region. These needs include insulating the grid from possible system failure, integrating added protection relays, full external control, anti-reversing and monitoring. All of these may be requested prior to any permission being granted to install a system and connect to the grid. Our design team can assist in all these areas.

Solar Tracking Unit

Another good option for solar system design is tracking units. Tracking units are particularly useful with higher performance expectations. Around 40% better yield can be expected by installing these units. Two options currently available are global positioning and sun tracking.

Ground Mounted Units

Ground mounted units are the most commonly selected designs for large scale unit installations. These units have ground screws inserted and racking units are secured directly to these screws after installation is completed.

Roof Mounted Units

Roof mounting is usually best suited when there is not enough ground space available to accommodate solar panels, or the roof is not large enough to accommodate the design needs. Most large-scale facilities rooftops are typically at a very low angle, and require tilt kits to adjust the necessary angle for the area of installation.
