AIKO’s N-Type ABC photovoltaic cells are built with a distinctive back-contact structure that enables straight-line welding—an improvement over the traditional zig-zag method. By placing all interconnecting ribbons on the back of the cell, this design eliminates the multiple surface stress points that typically lead to microcracks during conventional welding.

Unlike zig-zag welding, which can create uneven pressure across the cell, AIKO’s straight-line approach distributes force more evenly, significantly reducing the risk of damage. The modules also incorporate wider interconnecting ribbons than most conventional panels, providing greater tensile strength and enhancing long-term durability.
